Hi everyone 🙏

I am Yana Dorohova and I am living in Ukraine now. I could never ever imagine that there could be such a massive war in my country and the initiator would be our "neighbor" - the nation which has the same roots, the common history, and much more. The rest of my family lives in Russia, many of my clients, many of my friends.

I am raising this fundraising and asking for your help! My small village in the north of Ukraine is getting isolated from the big cities since we are getting surrounded by the russian soldiers. Tomorrow is unknown and we don't actually know when the better times will come and when everything will be back to normal in our country. The local government here is planning to stop paying salaries to civilians. That's why I want to be able to help my people here in case we all run out of money, food, meds, etc.

So far our nation is keeping very strong, there is enough food, people are helping each other. But all this may be changing for the worse soon and I have to start taking action now.

PLEASE IF YOU CAN DONATE ANY AMOUNT and support us here - PLEASE DO IT.

All people in my circle, my village, anyone who would need help here in Ukraine will benefit from your donation. WE AREN'T ABLE TO WORK NOW, everything is closed. Even though I am working online overall, our internet is unstable and we may be forced to run to a bomb shelter anytime. The mobile connection doesn't work at all.

Now briefly about what's happened:

This war has started all over Ukraine on 24th Feb 2022 at 5 AM. At 8 AM I woke up, read the news, and thought that those several attacks are the continuation and another "evidence" of the conflict which exists between Russia and Ukraine for the last 7 years. I was texting with my client saying that I will be back to work the next day cause right now we might focus on arranging some stuff for living like getting cash, getting petrol, and so on since destabilization of the economy may start. At 3 PM the information came that Russians bombed almost all the airports in the country, Russian tanks were invading from 5 different border lines at the same time. The explosions started to occur around Kyiv. My 21-year-old brother got called to the army in Kyiv that morning. My dad, who is a military veteran went to the local meeting and they started organizing a local defense in my village. My mom felt strong emotional tension, in addition to all this, her sister in Russia (my aunt) kept saying that all those messes in Ukraine were caused by our local Ukrainian saboteurs and Putin brought his army to save us... My boyfriend and me (I am 5 months pregnant) packed out stuff and booked the tickets to my parents' village. It's in the north and fight with Russian army (mainly those are Chechens soldiers) was happening 30 km from our village. But we still decided to go there to be closer with a family and escape from the city which could be bombed (that's Putin's target as he wants to set a new president for our country). It took us 6 hours (instead of the regular 2) to reach the village and the train had to stop halfway cause the rest of the road was dangerous. We reached home at 10 PM, the night was sleepless, the first night during the war. The situation in Kyiv got worse, many houses and buildings have been bombed. Our army is doing a great job, but there is no other help from the rest of the world, only the restrictions towards Russia. Yes, our army is much smaller than Russian, but it's our territory and we have to fight.

Most of my friends have already left the country. As you see - I haven't. Neither I moved to the west of the country. My home is in the Chernihiv region. I can't let myself leave when my brother and my dad went to defend us and my country. My boyfriend can be next, and he is not allowed to leave the country. My mom won't go either anywhere while her son is in the army. My 61-year-old uncle refused to move to the UK to his son because he wants to stay here, till the end. It's our homeland that undergoes this horrible invasion without any reason!!! Just because 70-year-old King or Russian feels like Hitler. Another reason why I am not leaving is the roads are very unsafe and being shot through by russian soldiers (who are not following the war rules). That's why I am willing to stay in my hometown as long as I can survive here.

I will keep you updated about our situation. I may be reached via Instagram or Facebook.

It's the first time I am ever doing fundraising. I wish I won't need to use any dollar from this fundraising and the war in my country is finished tomorrow 🙏 I still hope........and in this case, I will transfer all this financial support to other countries which are also suffering from Russian attacks.
