Supporting Mike with Covid-19 and Lung Cancer in the Philippines

This is a difficult time for everyone but I have created this fundraiser on behalf of my brother in law, to help , Mike Philpott in his fight. For many year's he battled Diabetes undergoing a multitude of treatments, medications and surgeries to help him and it's been hard. But fate would have it that diabetes would not be his only fight.

On Jan 2020 my brother in law was diagnosed with Stage 3 lung cancer. Since then it has been an emotional journey and struggle. He traveled to the Philippines to undergo his Cancer treatment, secluded with my sister in Central Manila, due to the high financial requirements where he lived, the only option was to undergo treatment in the Philippines, as the treatment cost was manageable.

For a couple of months he went through immunotherapy and when that was not showing any positive results, they decided Chemo was the best route to take. This really made his condition even more difficult.

This August took a turn for the worst when his Oxygen level started dropping and he was rushed to the ER at St. Lukes Global. They discovered he had pneumonia, and after a few tests, he tested positive for Covid-19. Philippines is struggling with being able to accommodate patients.

Right now, he has undergone 4 dialysis procedures to remove cytokines in his blood that could damage his lungs and kidneys.

He is undergoing all possible treatments but even while battling diabetes, lung cancer, pneumonia and the coronavirus, my brother in law remains a fighter.

We were told by doctors that anyone else at his age and with his underlying conditions would not have survived this far but we are praying for him and my sister to overcome this.

There was a plan to manage all the treatments but unfortunately, it's gone beyond what they had to cover the treatments. The costs have escalated and they're no longer just there for cancer. I'm doing the best I can to be able to help them in anyway I can, and if I can reach out to anyone at all that could help in anyway, shape or form. I thank you.
