Campaign Story
Maharashtra is state in India and 36 districts. Out of these 34 are rural districts. This year 32 districts are facing severe drought that is affecting lives of humans and animals in 172 taluks from area. The government has declared these districts to be under drought situation. While government is supporting the farmers in issues like drinking water, food, fodder there is also need to support farmers with seed for next years crop. We plan to support 50000 farmers at INR 500/family* (200 villages) in this area with seed for next years crop. The rain fed agriculture in the area will get monsoon showers around June 2019 and this support will be beneficial to the farmers for preparing next years crop.
*This includes management and transport cost for seed.
The beneficiaries will be from poor families with small to medium landholding, a preference will be given to unsupported women, tribal people, backward classes, HIV affected people and handicapped people.
