#SupportAmbitiousRamesh in his final bachelor year

Summary

Hello, dear sponsors. My name is Eddy, I am from The Netherlands and like to continue the help to a Nepali student, named Ramesh Karki*, to complete his study in civil engineering.

During the last 10 years I paid all the cost of his education and livelihood. But now I am not able anymore to help him financially, and unfortunately just at a moment he only has to complete the last 12 months of his study.

I learned Ramesh as a very nice and friendly person, caring his family, friends and other people, and like to work hard to achieve the highest results as possible in his study. All this makes it for me more difficult to accept the present situation I cannot help him anymore.

The problem is that Ramesh cannot continue his study and has to stopwhen we are not able to find some financial support.

Because Ramesh can’t start a CHUFFED fundraising campaign from his home country Nepal, we decide to create the campaign from The Netherlands.

We hope you like to read our entire story and want to help Ramesh to solve his problem. I would, as former sponsor, greatly appreciate when you like to be a part of the solution and help Ramesh. It should be for Ramesh and me a big relief if you make it able for him to continue and complete his present study, and make it maybe also possible for him to start a master study after.

Next Ramesh like to write his story and made a list of the expenses, which he has during his last year study at his college.

Me, My Family, My Donor, My Future, And YOU.

Me

Namastee or in Devanagari/Sanskrit नमस्ते , is the greeting of Nepal.

My name is Ramesh Karki, I am 22 years old, and I am Nepali. I study civil engineering (bachelor degree) at the Kathmandu Engineering College (KEC) in Nepal.

My Family

I born in a poor family and because of the weak economy of Nepal it is very difficult to find some job and generate enough money to survive. When somebody is lucky to find a job it is almost impossible to live a basic and decent life from it. To bear also the cost of a study from that income is impossible. Because of those problems my father is forced to work as company guard in the United Arabic Emirates and earn just enough money for my mother’s and my brother’s basic livelihood. Because it is impossible to study also from my father’s salary, and the fact Nepal has no proper government educative support after primary education, some has to find another way to cover the cost of a study. And because most of the colleges are private and expensive, and only affordable for the richer people who have more influence in the society, makes everything extra difficult for the poor and average people.

My Donor

The last 10 years I was fortunate to complete School Leaving Certificate (secondary) and +2 (higher secondary), and attend the first 3 years at KEC with the financial help of my Dutch sponsor Eddy, whom I found in the past, when I was just twelve years old. My sponsor was able to pay all the cost of my study and livelihood, like college and exam fee, books, transportation, boarding cost and later on room rent, clothes and food. But now, because of some unforeseen financial problems my very generous sponsor cannot bear the cost of my study and livelihood anymore. Now this problem occur I feel desperate and search, together with my sponsor, for your help to continue and complete my last 12 months of study at KEC.

My Future

With your kind help I hope our fundraising campaign generates the money to complete my study at KEC, which I already start last week without any money to bear the upcoming costs. In case this fundraising campaign not generates the needed money, then I am forced to stop my education. But I am positive and hope it will be successful and maybe, with a little luck, I receive some more money to lay the financial foundation to start a master study after.

Despite my desperation at the moment I am confident to be able, with your help, to find the possibility to build up a brighter future after completing my study at KEC. But a master study which about I am passionate and keen to follow (and if need, should be my next fundraising campaign), give me the opportunity to step out of poverty and give me in future the opportunity to help my family and, for example, to support other people who have similar problems like me at this moment. After my student life I hope to be able to find work and within this work to participate in my countries further development and prosperity.

And YOU

For all the donors, big or small, in this or other fundraising campaigns, I have a warm feeling. I like to say in advance, out of the core of my heart, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you so much for the generous gifts and the brighter future you give me, and you give all the other people you support.

I appreciate you taking the time to read about our campaign. I would greatly appreciate a contribution of any amount. If you feel that you are not in a space to donate any money, I completely understand! Would you consider sharing this with someone else who you think might be interested, please do. If you have any questions or want more information please reach out to the Facebook or (for more personal information) email of Eddy.

* Because of the urgency to start this fundraising campaign I do not have a clear view which kind of laptop I need. It can be that the cost to buy that laptop is some higher or lesser then € 1.250. In an update Eddy let you know what the cost is of the laptop I have to buy. An second thing is the teacher surprised me and the other students at day one of the course with the news we need a computer for running AutoCAD and SAP2000……This is Nepal and my former sponsor Eddy call this kind of things, which happen at the last moment, Nepali Surprises!.

* The name Ramesh Karki is a nickname because Ramesh shamed himself because of his background, for his fellow students at KEC. I understand but Ramesh and I realize this can damage our fundraising campaign. We hope you understand it too and like to be generous to Ramesh, please, please, please help him. Because of the same shame Ramesh feel we also cannot publish photographs of him.
