After a successful Dublin Spring Kirtan Mela, we are very motivated and pleased to organise another bigger Kirtan event in August and this time not for 6 nor 9 but 12 hours!! But as always we depend on the generosity of all of you supporting our festival to make this happen! So we have set up this fundraising campaign, every little helps! Even a euro makes a difference!
What is Kirtan?
Kirtan is an experience like no other. It combines sacred mantra, or spiritual words with vibrant, joyous music that lifts the soul and energizes the body. Its beauty lies in its simplicity. One leader sings the mantra, accompanied by a few instruments. After each line, the group – however large or small, respond with the same line. This call and response continues as the kirtan slowly unfolds.
Though the kirtan tradition originated in ancient India, it is no less relevant to our modern times. With the increasing demands of the average working life, kirtan is perhaps even more beneficial than ever.
In kirtan, there are no rules – you can sit or stand, or better yet, dance! You can clap or play instruments, and sing to your heart’s content. The only thing necessary is an open heart, open mind, and open ears!
What are we collecting for?
To make this Kirtan festival memorable and give everyone a unique opportunity to enter the Temple of the Heart, we would like to invite some special guest Kirtaniyas from abroad. This then requires us to look after them and host them. Any contribution made will go towards their travel cost, accommodation and hosting them. In addition, since we have now extended to 12 hours, we would also like to facilitate all our guest attending the Kirtan with Prasadam(Sanctify Vegetarian Food), either by providing them discount from restaurant or a free meal (all will depend on the amount of contribution received). Last but not least, we would like to gather as many like minded and sincere souls in Dublin/Ireland, as we can and for this we will need to print posters, leaflets etc to advertise, any additional contributions will also be covering these and help in organising a better Kirtan festival.
We really want to built upon that momentum to make the experience a quality and profound one for all those that partake. So slowly but surely we are already starting the ground work to what should be a special Kirtan experience! So please help us by supporting us in any way you can.

May this Dublin Kirtan Mela be as special as the previous one in April. It was ecstatic, uplifting and a great day to glorify the names of Krishna. Looking forward to the next one in August. Haribol, Ron
