Support Edith’s Travel Expenses to Study at Memorial University in Canada

Thank you for granting me an audience with you, requesting and seeking for your kind support to fund my graduate studies.

Being a proficient user of four languages--Ewe, Akan, English and French--my language learning endeavours have been fuelled by a desire to understand the nature of language. Moreover, I chose to study French and Linguistics at the University of Ghana for the undergraduate level, after which I started searching for a university that could provide me with a deeper and explicit approach to Linguistics. My search ended at Memorial University of Newfoundland, one of the most diversified and highly respected multi-disciplinary, multi-campus universities in Canada.

Earlier this year, I was overwhelmed knowing that I have been accepted into Memorial University of Newfoundland, St. John’s Canada for my master’s degree in Linguistics .

But having lost my dad just at the time that I began my high school education, my mother who is now a teacher pensioner is unable to raise the needed funds for me to travel to Canada to commence the programme, even though I have been offered a tuition waiver and a stipend for living expenses by the university.

I believe there are people in this world who have been blessed with both wealth and a kind heart in helping students like me. Growing up from a middle-lower class family in Ghana, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I would be very grateful if you could contribute towards my travel expenses in the amount of $2,500 to enable me take up my admission in Canada as I am the first female in my family to do her master's whiles studying abroad.
