Support me in starting Biomedical Imaging studies in Finland

Dear good people,

My name is Petar Kosijer. I’m a 24-year-old student from Serbia and I have graduated from the University of Novi Sad with the bachelor degree of biology, specialization on molecular biology, with honours. During this year, I applied for master studies of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Turku, Finland. After preliminary and eliminatory exams in February, in March 2020, to my great joy, I was accepted for the programme with specialization in Biomedical Imaging.

I developed an enormous interest in studying Biomedical Sciences during my Erasmus studies in Turku in the spring semesters of 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 academic years and biomedical studies don't exist in my country. I see a highly important and profound purpose of Biomedical Imaging in different spheres of life, e.g. science, medicine and pharmacy, because different microscopic and radiological techniques can be implemented in the various researches of nanotechnology, physiology and they can help us with diagnosing different diseases or disorders and find a cure for them.

As a non-EU citizen, I’m obliged to pay the tuition fee for my studies of 12 000 euros/academic year and to have the deposit of 7 000 euros on my bank account as a guarantee for covering my living expenses, since I come from a poor country.

I am asking you for financial support to help me pay tuition fee of 12 000 euros for the first year of my master studies. It's important to emphasize that if I enroll myself at the University and study well to pass all exams with excellent grades (which is my ultimate goal), I’ll be able to apply for the scholarship for the second year. There are several issues why I’m asking for help: firstly, as Serbia is one of the three poorest countries in Europe, all of us in the family don’t earn nearly enough money to cover all the expenses. Secondly, we try to save the money for the deposit of 7 000 euros, then for residence permit application, which is mandatory for non-EU citizens and the costs also involve health insurance and the application fee. And finally, I need to save the money for the travel expenses to come to Finland.

Any amount of money is more than welcome and I’m already extremely grateful for your support. The deadline for the payment is 14th October 2020 and I would be grateful to gather the money several days before the deadline. Once again, thank you for all the support. Wish you only the best!
