SUPPORT for Tatay’s battle against COVID and hospital dues.

My father started having high fever last August 9, 2020 so the next day, we went to Fe Del Mundo Hospital to have him checked for COVID-19. Unfortunately, his swab test results came back positive last Aug. 13. Since then, he was on home quarantine and only my mother and I were taking care of him. We thought he was getting better since his fever started going down last Aug. 17 and was only in a weakened state because he wasn’t eating enough due to lack of appetite. Then last Aug. 22, he had difficulty in breathing so we rushed him to Fe Del Mundo emergency. It was only then that we knew his oxygen levels are very low because every time we ask him if he can breathe properly, he would always say yes. He also got admitted on the same day.

Aside from the growing hospital dues per day and we are aware that the costs will reach at least a million pesos. He has to undergo 4 sessions of hemoperfusion to cleanse his blood from by-products which costs P70,000 each session and take Remdesivir which cost P25,660 each vial. As of now, we still don’t know how much of the Remdesivir is needed. Further, as one of the requirements of the hospital, we needed to hire private nurse to attend to my father during his stay in the hospital at P6,000/shift or P12,000.00/day..

Much as we would like to shoulder the costs on our own, we have sapped out our savings as well as the support that our relatives have open handedly extended us.. We have also exhausted all means to acquire immediate cash by applying for loans, however, we are still short to cover all the medical and hospital expenses.

Hence, we are asking for your generosity to help us secure the funds to help pay my father’s hospital dues. Any amount would be greatly appreciated. We hope you can also share this petition to other people you know so it could reach more people.

All donations will be accounted for and any excess funds will be donated to another family with hospitalized covid patients.
