''By volunteering with street children, you can help provide inspiration, education and support to some of the Philippines most underprivileged children. These children typically come from dysfunctional homes where there is poverty, violence, neglect or addiction issues. Many have left home to escape from abusive treatment. Others have resorted to begging in the streets because there is no food in the home. Volunteers will support and encourage the children and help them obtain the skills and self-belief to thrive in difficult circumstances.'' As I read this, it makes me realise that staying in Singapore with a roof over our head is a priviledge, and as I turned 21 this year, I want to help these children on the streets. To teach them and help them to get over their tough childhood. There fore I'm heading over in May 4th 2015 I do not want to be the type of volunteer that goes there and supply them every thing they need, I want to go there and teach them some life skills and teach them how to speak basic english or even chinese. As the syaing goes that, give a man a fish he can eat for a day, teach a man to fish he can eat for a life time. But what is stopping me from going is monetary issues. I am just a student, working part time. But I want to use this study break and do something meaningful. Although I might just turned 21, I too, want to inspire and change someone's life. As my life has been changed before too. I want to pass it forward. So please if you have some extra cash please help me achieve this dream of mine, and to help the kids in philippines. Thank you!
