The North Peloponnese In Greece is full of very popular summer resort small towns and villages serving the Athens metropolitan area residents. Sadly every single year the start of the school season finds this same area full of abandoned cats in the mercy of the winter. In the midst of practically ghost urban areas adorable little creatures suddenly face severe malnutrition, deseases and certain excruciating death by the time winter begins in earnest in late December.
We have put in place a network of local volunteers, affiliated veterinarians and fosterers in an effort to attend to the needs of the area cats.
All our volunteers and fosterers have offered their time on a one hundred percent volunteer basis and in fact we will only utilize our vehicles and personal storage places for the needs of this project.
The local veterinarians have offered specially discounted fees for the strays and major cat food discounts have been secured.
We estimated that the amount of 8,888 euro will be sufficient for the feeding on a daily basis, neutering and medical needs of the first group of the most needy two hundred cats that we have selected and until late spring of 2021.
The urgency of the request is due to the limited time we have (60 days) in order to put in place the necessary framework and prepare and organize the stray cats before the winter settles in. (Set regular feeding times and complete medical care before low temperatures reduce the effectiveness of our efforts)
Every penny counts and we have ensured that one hundred percent of the funds go are used for the stray cats.
Photos and videos of our efforts will be posted for all our efforts.
We thank you very much for your attention
