Go big or go home…like my Dad always say. I am Sion Scholtz, 8 years old, a student from Windhoek Namibia and also an Inline Hockey player, but Mom says that “Athlete” sounds better. Recently I have been selected to represent the Namibian U10 Junior National Development Team at the Inline Hockey State Wars Tournament, held in St Peters, Missouri, USA end July 2021.
Mom and Dad said that going to America will cost a lot and they will also help me financially, but I have to do my part to help with the funding. So, a friend of mine said I should try Go-Get-Funding. So, here I am!
Coach said that I would need approximately US $6000 to go there and back. With this money I would be able to pay for my seat on the plane (can’t believe I am going to fly for the first time in my life), 2 team tricos and 2 team pants, my bed at a hotel and all my food. Really hopes my Dad take enough money to buy my brother and mom a gift because I am surely going to miss them when I am gone.
That sure sounds like a lot of money, but I really want to show my parents that I can do it!
My parents taught me to give with a open hand and to help others when I can, so therefore I want to donate 10% off my total funds to my U10 team to help them with costs as well.
To be able to go would mean a lot to me, because I get to play against other countries and up-skill myself to another level. I just love this sport.
I would really appreciate your contribution towards my cause. I will make all of you proud!
