Start-up Artist in Need

Hello, Hiya, Holaa!

I am a starting visual artist, and I need your help in order to create my first gallery of paintings!

Backstory

I come from an architectural background, and I have been furthering my education in architecture, until last year, with the intention to dedicate time to art once I have established myself as an architect, sometime in the distant future.

Enduring some mental and physical health-related complications last year, has come with many life-changing realisations, and instilled a sense of urgency regarding what I should be doing in life, and set an ultimatum as to when I should do it: now.

It is impossible for me to get grants, as I do not have a portfolio yet, except I do require some sustenance in order to create one. I have been practicing painting with acrylics, and honing my technique as often as possible, but mostly building over an inborn talent. Now, however, I lack the funds required in order to dedicate any time, or space to painting, and to purchase the needed art supplies.

What will this gallery be about?

The intention behind this gallery is to capture and portray the varying states of mind that one experiences, from melancholy, dismay, and desperation, fear and anger, to love, pure joy, inspiration, and elevation. This will not only include states across the emotional spectrum, but will invite elements of the imagination, whereby the boundary between the real and the surreal will be deliberately questioned and obscured.

In response to the context, I aim to contribute to raising awareness to the environmental hardships experienced by Lebanon, and the word in general, by reminding viewers of their interconnectedness with others, and the environment, through studied imagery, communicating to both the conscious, and the subconscious minds.

Where will the money go to?

The money will help me cover accommodation, living expenses and art supplies required for the production of 12 paintings across the duration of 9-12 months.
