Dear good people, my name is George Kamuzhu Phiri from South Luangwa National Park, Mfu

we in Zambia. I was born 39 years ago here in Mfuwe at Kapalala village Chief Kakumbi. I am married with 3 children. I completed my high in 2000. My childhood dream was to become a pilot but due to some financial difficulties, I stayed for 16 years without attaining any form of tertiary education till an opportunity came in 2017 when I applied at the Southern African Wildlife College for a two years program for an Advanced Certificate in Nature Conservation and Trans-frontier Conservation Management. I was accepted and luckily during my first year in 2017, I emerged an overall best student and I was also the best student in animal studies. The overall best student award enabled me to have a scholarship for the second year (2018) and the best student in animal studies gave me an opportunity to have my childhood dream of becoming a pilot turn into a reality. Through the best student in animal studies award, I was given an opportunity to start my flight training for a conservation pilot course in Light Sport Aircraft license (LSA) and later on do the private pilot license (PPL) as most conservation organizations would hire a pilot with a PPL than with an LSA. The flight training scholarship was only for the Light Sport Aircraft License. I was so lucky that the sponsors paid everything for my light sport aircraft license and I’m currently looking for funds to help me do the private pilot license. In 2019, a school by the name of Aviation Adventures Flight School of Nelspruit in South Africa accepted me to do the private pilot license training with them but I have not been able to raise the total amount of money required hence asking from you good people to help me raise this money. The total amount required is ZAR82,170.00 which is equivalent to US$5100

Kindly help me realize my childhood dream of becoming a pilot except now that I will be doing this for a good cause by becoming a conservation pilot to help with undertaking aerial surveys for wildlife and monitoring of human threats, providing aerial support to law enforcement efforts as we protect our natural resources. The completion of my conservation flight training will be a great motivation for other youths who are aspiring to become pilots since I will be the first ever local person to become one and this can be a great opportunity for them to do it at a younger age. I have since attached the acceptance letter and the quotation that was sent to me in 2019 for the PPL training which I haven’t been able to raise the funds hence coming up with this GoFundMe page. I have hidden the person to whom it was addressed to and the organization since I don’t want to make them feel bad that they couldn’t manage to sponsor me for my upgrade. I have also attached the best student certificates for your approval.

I will really appreciate your support by donating any amount or share this page with your friends and relatives and help me finish my conservation pilot training and help save our ever-dwindling natural resources. Having worked as an ecological monitoring supervisor where I used to walk about 40kms a day, I realized how important and the difference aerial surveys are and more reason I am seeking your help to help me raise this money.

Thank you. Love you all!

George
