Spartans Malta Men's Volleyball Team - Heart of a Champion

Spartans Malta once again has proven their strong will, passion and dedication for the love of Volleyball and their beloved country, Malta.

The local league champions ended their campaign in The Inter Europe Geneva, Switzerland and brought home the 1st Runner Up title.

It was joined by different countries in Europe organized by the Filipino Sporting Community Association of Geneva, Switzerland.

May 6, 2023 The Spartan Malta Men's Team arrived in Petit Lancy, Ternier Geneva as it is the venue for the Inter Europe League, being the most talked and anticipated team for the said event, every eye was on Team Malta.

The event started with a parade of colors, oath of sportsmanship and Philippine National Anthem.

Right after that, the games started and the first battle of Spartans Malta was with Volley X-Bern, a Team from Switzerland and Spartans ended the game with the score of 20-06 / 20-12 in favor of Team Malta.

The next battle was with El Supreme, the 2nd team of Switzerland.

Spartan Malta successfully finished the game with the score of 20-14/ 20- 09 making it a 2 wins and 0 loss for Team Malta.

The next game for the elimination was with Team Sweden which Spartan Malta emerges as victor and the last game for Elimination was with Team Rome, Italy and was tagged the most anticipated game for eliminations.

Spartan Malta emerges victorious giving them the ticket to Semi Finals with the standing of 4 Wins and 0 Loss.

The Semi finals bout was with Team Madrid, Spain, a game where Spartan Malta displayed resilience and team work and making them a winner and Rank no. 1 with zero loss for the whole league and also a ticket to the championship game.

The Championship game started at around 10pm Vs. Team Rome, Italy once again as they successfully worked their way on top by defeating D'Clan from London, UK.

Fatigue, Stress and Cramps are starting to a toll on everyones body.

But everyone is eager to win and get that Championship Title some even mentioned "Last Push, we are already here in the Championship!" As motivation.

The game was dominated by Team Rome on the 1st set, and Team Malta Bounce their way back on the 2nd set, the 3rd and decision set is quite stressful as it is a race to 15 point, but with determination of both teams to win, it was tied and extended several time up until 18-20 score in favor of Team Rome, Italy.

The end of the game was full of emotions for both teams. Showing what a heart of a champion really is.. never give up till the end.

Team Rome, Italy bagged the well deserved championship title and Spartans Malta as 1st Runner Up,

The team was very thankful for the experience being established only last year vs. a well established team of Rome.

It's a one of a kind experience and the Team will definitely try to bounce back as Champion on the next Inter Europe In Rome, Italy.
