Spartan Race – Madrid

Breast Cancer, one of the big C’s, and one that never seems to be far away from us somehow…. Affecting our family, our friends, or family of our friends.

My mum is one of the most important people in my life, and she is a breast cancer survivor. We are grateful that it was caught and for the amazing care and treatment she received.

Breast Cancer Support Gibraltar provides that aftercare and support here and I have a crazy way of raising some money for the charity.

Inspired by my best friend here in Gibraltar, who did her first Spartan race in Majorca, we have decided to do one together in Madrid on 7th October 2023.

So, what is a Spartan race…. It’s a 5km race with 20 obstacles in the way between the start and finish. I am very comfortable running 5km on a treadmill, but on a track with 20 obstacles will be a huge challenge, from A frames, barrel carrying and rope climbing. If you miss an obstacle the penalty is 30 burpees!
