SOS Medical funds needed

This campaign has been created to collect funds for medical expenses of the Lopez-Muñoz family.

They are a Costa Rican family that for many years has been dedicated to missionary work through music and they need your help at this moment.

5 years ago, they migrated to Guatemala in search of a better future and to carry out different activities that would allow them to collect funds to perform the surgery that Pili (Adrian's wife) needs.

For more than 10 years, Pili was a patient at the Pain Management Clinic in Costa Rica because she began to suffer incapacitating headaches. After several medical examinations, a serious occlusion problem was discovered that had caused tear/wear on her condyles, jaw, shoulder, neck and back, and which in turn were also pressing various facial nerves, including the trigeminal, which over the years, caused a length discrepancy of 5 centimeters in the right side of her body.

As a result of all these problems, and since the Costa Rican Social Security (CCSS) closed the maxillofacial surgery program, family, friends, and acquaintances made an effort to get her an orthokinetic splint that would help reposition the jaw in the right place and partially relieve the pain Pili suffers. This effort was made to get her some quality of life while waiting for the maxillofacial surgery, which is the only definitive option.

During the pandemic, the Lopez-Muñoz family had to stay in Guatemala, and the benefit that the splint brought to Pili soon turned out to be insufficient to control the increasingly severe pain that afflicted her.

Unfortunately, they find themselves in a financial SOS due to the high costs of the medication that Pili needs, the lack of medical insurance in Guatemala, the loss of her medical file in Costa Rica, and a waiting list of 290 patients, who, like her, need a maxillofacial surgery at the CCSS.

For this reason, we are resorting to your help, to be able to cover her treatment, start the preoperative care process, and even to cover several overdue rent payments which put them at risk of eviction, all caused by this whole negative financial situation.
