Solomon Islands National Children's Convention
The United Church of the Solomon Islands have asked Viv at Newlife Uniting Church to provide a team of people skilled in leading children, to help them run their National Children's Convention in December in Munda. There will be over 400 children attending the Convention arriving by boat from all over the Solomon Islands with their Sunday School teachers and adult minders. We have organised a team of 10 passionate and skilled people - 7 adults and 3 of our young people to give up 10 days to travel over to help them.
We are asking our friends and family to support us as we travel overseas to serve the children of the Solomons.
We need more funds for 3 reasons:
1. some financial help with travel costs and mosquito netting
2. to buy resources and equipment to take with us to use for the activities we will lead.
3. to buy bible story books and other Christians resources to give to the children and their teachers
If you are able to give an anonymous donation, small or large, know that you are giving to support and extend the work of ongoing discipleship of children in one of our closest nations, where the cost of living is about 7 times less than Australia and where most live in subsistence.
