Solid at 85, the continuous fight of Alejandra Subillaga, a fight worth fighting for!

Last April 2018, my grandma was very sick and weak. She was brought to a clinic by my mom and did a series of test. According to the doctor, she had pulmonary disease with TB. A lot of medications was given and after two weeks, she recovered from illness.

After a couple of days, my grandma felt weak again and she can't even eat nor drink. She's complaining her chest, she can't breathe well because of severe cough with thick mucus. She was brought at the Lung Center of the Philippines for proper diagnosis. The doctor advised us immediately to admit her in the hospital.

Again, series of test were done. The diagnosis was Pneumonia/Sepsis. She was confined for almost a week. She was confined on May 17, 2018 and discharged on May 23, 2018. She was adviced to have a continuous medication like antibiotics and a lot more for one month.

The following day, we were glad to see her doing things like before. She eats well, sleeps well, talks a lot and smiles a lot.

Wednesday night at around 10:00 pm, she can't sleep and continuously coughing. She told us that she can't breathe well. My aunt nebulized her for her to feel better. Unfortunately, her condition was getting worse.

The next day, Thursday (May 24, 2018), my mom and aunt brought her again to the emergency room of the Lung Center. She was given an immediate oxygen and antibiotics which were injected directly to her through IV. She was admitted again and will do the same procedures just like she was confined.

Friday morning, (May 25, 2018), my grandma woke up and was in a hurry going to the CR. My aunti who was there to accompany her, fixing the dextrose and others is trying to pull all those just to follow grandma. Unfortunately, accident happened. Lola slipped on the floor and suffered subdural hemorrhage. Suturing was done on the left lateral orbit.

My lola had decreased in sensorium and had episode of seizure. She was intubated and transferred to ICU.

She was referred to neuro service and Neuro surgery and was planned to have evacuation of hematoma. Since she was 85 years old, we refused..... Medications and mannitol are continued.

As of now, my lola is still in the ICU. The hospital bill is getting bigger per day.
