Campaign Story
Hi,
My name is Sujith Soman, me and my friends are have started an innovative startup which we believe will change the future of Indian Electric Vehicle Industry and to make EVs more affordable for the masses.
Since Ms Nirmala Sitharaman introduced her budget 2019, the highlight of the budget was to promote EV industry in India in the coming years and major manufacturers will be getting down on this as the GST rates has been slashed to a percentile which is very ambitious and certainly a very good step in our country becoming more electric in the coming years. We are proposing a cheaper and alternative solution to the cost of an EV in India which is its battery (makes up 40% of the entire cost). Lithium Ion batteries are the most common batteries out there and currently India doesn't have any Lithium deposits/mines and the whole market is monopolized by China and South America, and the Lithium deposits are depleting fast and hence the cost will increase in the coming future. What we are proposing is a solution for this in the form of Sodium Ion Battery which can be as efficient as a Lithium Ion Battery and for a price sensitive market like India would gladly accept.
We have built our contacts and asked for support from IIT, Roorkee and their research team is working on a prototype which can to commercialized after proper testing and approval.
I am an electrical engineering graduate from the state of Kerala and we are working on the idea of Sodium Ion batteries for several months and we would really appreciate the support as we need seed money to get a kick start for making this project into a reality.
We are grateful for your help!
