Twice Weekly Feeding Program

During our “Back to School Boost” function in August 2012; we invited the parents and guardians in attendance to send their children / charges to our church school and Youth in Action meetings. The following Sunday we had over (20) new and eager faces in our worship service. At the close of the service I went to meet and greet the young ones as they exited the building.

As I stood watching the procession of young people, I was approached by a member of our church who reported that some of the children were complaining that they were hungry for they had not eaten since last night. We immediately took steps to do what we could to help and the “Twice weekly Feeding Program” was born out of this endeavour. Annual Health & Wellness Fair

Our annual “Health & Wellness Fair” is held on the last weekend of June each year. The aim is to provide “Free Medical Care” to the needy and less fortunate residents of the, Waltham Park; Hagley Park; Cassia Park & Molynes Gardens communities in the Parishes of Kingston & St Andrew.

Service offered includes:

1) Medical Examinations by a licensed Doctor

2) Blood Sugar & Blood Pressure Checks

3) Dental Examinations & Cleaning

4) Eye Testing & Reading Glasses

5) HIV/STD Testing & Counselling

6) Cancer & Ostomy Care Workshops

7) Health Foods & Healthy Living Seminars

Since the inception of this program in June of 2012, we have provided over twelve hundred (1200) assorted services to the members of these communities. Unfortunately, about the same amount of persons had to be turned away, because we did not have enough resources nor the manpower required to meet the high demand, for this type of relief effort.
