Smiles For Heroes PH

Smiles For Heroes PH is an initiative for the common heroes in the Philippines. These heroes are the hard working men and women who tirelessly fulfill their family responsibilities every day. They work day-in-and-day-out without complaint, they raise children or grandchildren by providing a roof over their heads and home-cooked meals, they are overburdened with financial obligations such as tuition, utility bills, car & mortgage loans, groceries, while trying to save for their own retirement or for that dream holiday in the future, and they dutifully pay taxes in the hopes for improved conditions in the community.

These heroes are rarely celebrated, but incredibly essential to keep the fabric of society intact. They are unrecognizable to most, but they are everywhere. They represent the working class and are usually found in the workplace; offices, schools, hospitals, or at home. They are our mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, brothers, and sisters. They are YOU!

In desperate times, these heroes are the breadwinners and providers. They are the most able to help and they are the ones that people flock to for help. But who helps our heroes?

We realize the weight of the burdens facing our heroes and for that reason we started #SMILESFORHEROES.

We recognize that there is no greater gift for a hero than to put a big smile on his/her face. The gift of a simple smile has infinitely higher intrinsic value than material goods. It can completely change the lives of a person in that brief moment of happiness and reflection.

Over the years at Greengold Farms Pampanga, we have engaged in many community service projects including donating seedlings of plants and vegetables to members of our community. We've witnessed first hand how powerful the expression of happiness and gratitude can be for such a simple act.

Seedlings are a representation of everything that makes a life of purpose worth living. They make us smile because of the thought of what the seedling can become in the future. We think about the nourishment a mature vegetable plant will give us. Through the process of gardening, we learn to be grateful, compassionate, and patient.

Also in many ways, the young, humble seedling reminds us of our own children, who, one day, may grow to be big and healthy and make the world a better place.

We are fortunate to possess the gift of giving therefore we would like to continue to provide seedlings to our hard-working heroes. That's why we need your help.

Your donations will ensure we can continue to procure planting materials to spread smiles by the gift of seedlings.
