Transgender woman’s gender affirmation surgery

Hey everyone. My name is Siren. I'm a woman with transgender experience. I'm 22 and I live in Turkey. I study at the University of Hacettepe in Ankara in the department of translation&interpretation (French-Turkish). I'm on hormones nearly for 3 years and I have gender dysphoria. It is crucial for me to get the surgery as soon as possible for my mental&physical health.

Due to the ongoing economic crisis in Turkey, people living here struggle to sustain a healthy and stable life. As a member of the most marginalized group (LGBTQI+) in Turkey, my situation is very desperate. Unfortunately, transgender people ''must'' get the gender affirmation surgery to be acknowledged by the laws and the society. Otherwise, we can not get the proper identity card for ourselves and this leads to a situation in which we can rarely get hired for a job with insurance or we can't rent a healthy&safe home. This is just because of the transphobia among Turkish people. Therefore, many transgender women are forced to become sex-workers in order to earn the money that they need to ''survive''.

I'm a woman with purposes, dreams and hopes. I'm an human-rights activist and I will always fight for the LGBTQI+ rights especially in Turkey and in the world. To find this motivation to chase my dreams and realize my plans, I need your support.
