Campaign Story
With great sadness, I regret to inform everyone that our beloved Sid Aaron Apolinario passed away last Sunday night.
He started his battle with cancer last August 2021, when he was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer at the young age of 39. He has gone through an operation and continuous cycles of chemotherapy and targeted treatment since then. At that time, he had created this campaign in an attempt to fight for his life: Help Sid fight his battle with Colon Cancer | GoGetFunding.
Early this year, his condition slowly started to worsen due to complications in his lungs and liver. The trips to the ER became more frequent until he was confined last March 20. Ever the fighter, he bravely underwent 4 different procedures in a span of two and a half weeks, even defying the doctor's expectation that he might wind up in intensive care.
On his birthday, April 3, the doctors told Sid there was nothing else they could do for him. They went home a couple of days later with the knowledge that it would be palliative care for him from that point on.
Even then, Sid fought the sickness the only way he knew how - valiantly, wholeheartedly, and with all the grit he had. He always said that he'd fight until he collapsed, and he did just that.
To honor his final wish, I say to you, Sid - my friend, my mentor, my brother - congratulations! You've lived life to the fullest, and you are victorious! Thank you for sharing your life with us. We will miss you, and you will forever be a champion in our hearts!
All of the funds raised from this campaign will go to Sid's family to assist with his medical and funeral expenses.

Thank you...
Update posted by Wendy and Rhia Apolinario at 03:16 pmThank you for all the prayers and generosity you've shown Sid's family. Sid was laid to rest last April 21, 2023. The site was quiet, peaceful... almost scenic. There were cats wandering around while the interment service was ongoing. We like to think that Sid would've enjoyed having them around. . . . .
