Condé Nast recently voted Siargao as best island in Asia. Siargao is popular for being a surf town, its growing community of startup entrepreneurs, and the loving locals.

Unfortunately, the Island was recently ravaged by category 5 Typhoon Rai (locally known as Odette).

I'm Dhanvan Saulo, one of the founders of Cosmic Philippines. We own a vegan restaurant that recently opened a branch in Siargao early of this year. We are raising funds to help the locals who are in desperate need of support from people like us that can operate remotely. Unfortunately we still have not been able to directly contact our business partners, families, and crew in the area since the typhoon made landfall at around 12pm on December 16, 2021.

We are launching this campaign to help the locals, businesses, our families, and residents of Siargao so that together, we can bounce back from the typhoon.

The photos from residents that were able to leave the island right after the typhoon is not very. This was recently posted by resident Raphy Repdos who who posted the series of images when he arrived in Bututan.

The funds will be used for the following purposes:

1. Chartering a plane from Butuan-Siargao-Butuan.
2. Bring doctors, medic, and relief to Siargao
3. Rescue individuals that need emergent medical attention
4. Volunteers
5. Help locals mobilize
6. Purchase of satellite phones
7. Purchase of generators
