In India stray cows are a common problem. Stray cows can be seen in every locality. Cows are mistreated by owners if they are old. cows are termed useless once they stop milking and people leave their cows to die on roads and streets. Mostly stray cows can be seen on roads, in streets and often near the dustbins in search of food. They are a common cause of traffic jams and road accidents.
Oxen and bulls that were earlier used for work in the fields are no longer required due to the use of machines that is why farmers release male calves on the roads.Further the animals that are no longer productive are also left on the roads.Another problem is that farmers do not want to pay for the upkeep of unproductive cattle.Instead they are left on the roads. The problem of stray cows is going to increase in coming years.
The cost of keeping an unproductive animal is around $3 per day.As far as rehabilitation of stray cattle is concerned it is difficult to arrange funds for their food and shelter. It is a mission to rehabilitate the stray cows. People should donate one day's salary towards this cause. People should contribute to make this mission successful by donating money.
With the contribution and donations we are determined to arrange food and shelter for stray and old cows. In the first step we will give extension to already existing cow sheds to accommodate more cows which are in a poor condition presently. In the second step we will arrange land to construct new cow sheds where required. In third step we will construct at least four new cow sheds. Arranging food and manpower also need funds on regular basis.
Therefore we request people to donate for this noble cause and be a part of this mission.
