Most exotic pets are illegal here in the Philippines, and the process getting a permit to care for one is absolutely ridiculous and difficult.
I've always loved hedgehogs, and I'm currently taking care of one. Hedgehogs are very cute, and unlike other small house pets, they require very low maintenance, and very easy to take care of. Compared to hamsters and rabbits, hedgehogs barely have any odor, they're very clean, they never bite, unless the behavior is aggressive or if your hand smells like food. They can prick you with their quills if you scare them, but they're not like porcupines that shoot spikes at humans.
