I am Kimberly A. Collado, a singer-harpist from Cagayan Valley, Philippines and a student of Multimedia Arts at the University of the Philippines Open University. I work as ESL tutor during the day and a musician at night.
Coming from a small town in the Northern part of the Philippines, I tried my luck in auditioning to be a part of the World Championships of Performing Arts Philippine Team 2017. Without any expectations, I was able to pass the auditions to be able to represent the Philippines on July 2017 in Long Beach, California. My chosen category is Vocal with Accompaniment and my choice of instrument is the harp.
This opportunity comes rarely for someone like me raised in a provincial town. I would like to revive the dying culture of harp playing in the Philippines through representing the country to the competition. I am very much determined to push this endeavor because I want to make my country proud and show that no matter where you come from, you can achieve your dreams.
Some individuals have granted me Financial Aid amounting to USD404 but the total cost that I need to raise amounts to $4325 or Php 215,000. The first cut of payment is due on February 3, 2017 and I will not be registered if I cannot pay $1860.
Official Deadlines of Payments:
February 3, 2017 (Registration fee and US Visa) = $1860
March 15, 2017 (Airfare/ All access pass) = $1200
April 10, 2017 (Lodging) = $645
May 15, 2017 (All Events Pass, Travel Insurance, etc.) = $620
Total = $4325
In this light, I would like to ask for your help. Any amount will do, sharing my story will be a huge help too. Thank you so much for your kindness, I will be forever grateful.
UPDATE: I have raised the amount of $1695 for the registration fee. Unfortunately, I was not able to complete the other payments so I have decided to continue my journey next year instead of this year. I will have more time to get the total of $4325 by then. Donations are still welcome and very much appreciated.
Love and light,
