For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by the idea of sound. I was interested in how it's produced, what makes it special and why. It all started with my first interaction with the Qanun, my first musical instrument and my first love!

I started studying the Qanun, in addition to the Oud and Arabic percussion, at the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music at the age of eight.

At the age of 17, a year after graduating from the conservatory, I completed my bachelor's degree in Arabic music performance at the Jerusalem Academy of music and dance. That same year, I was offered a teaching position at the conservatory, which I have kept till this day. In addition to my experience with performance, I started investigating the art of sound engineering and music production. After a lot of research, I realized that I wanted to pursue this subject at the Amsterdam Abbey Road Institute. Their vision, their curriculum, their wide studio space, their focus on both the practical and the theoretical knowledge/experience, the professional world-renowned sound-engineers and producers that they invite to speak and teach, the possible connections and career boosting opportunities they offer, the diverse musicians and students present around, etc., sounded like a dream come true to me! I knew that I must be in a professional environment that is directed by experienced people... an environment like Abbey road Institute.

Studying in a place like the Abbey Road Institute will provide me exceptional skills and knowledge that I shall hopefully bring back with me to Palestine one day.

Combining my background as a professional qanun player and composer with this advanced learning experience will enable me to offer a unique music production platform, including a professional recording studio. This will help musicians in Palestine, and elsewhere, to express their creative musical ideas in a professional and warm environment at the highest standards.
