Secret Talka

We have about 5 weeks left to turn this run down bowling alley into a government-approved community center, live music venue, gallery, and pub.

We're raising money for the finishing touches -- repairs, sound equipment... We're almost there, but need your help.

We don't need it to be fancy. In fact, we've come up with simple DIY ways to make the place look presentable enough to open, but with the delays that come with every government process, it cost a lot just to keep renting it.

While we waited out the delays, we already invited some of you to a party to give you the taste of the place and give stage for such amazing local artists as March, Ake, DJ Krinkels, DJ Eliyo and Sliimests Slaists.

Everyone who enjoyed the rave, supports independent creators, or wants better culture in Ventspils... this is your chance to help us finish the place up, get it open, and get raving again.

We are creating a community center for people to exhibit art, perform music, and participate in open mic events.

What we'll need / buy:

• sound equipment (speakers, mixer)
• furniture (especially tables, chairs)
• curtain + curtain rail
• fixed concrete floor
• fixed electricity by the bar
• fire safety consultation
• someone ready to deliver + carry furniture every now and then
• put in 2 windows (one in, one out)
• make 2 stages (big and small)
• put a door in
• change 3 locks
• heating
• blankets
• books
• board games

Of course, we also encourage artists to come and perform here when we're open, and contribute their art either in print or on our walls.
