SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

Dear All,

My name is Emmanouela Provistali and I proudly present to you my life-goal project for which I kindly ask for your support.

Three years ago, I became a mother of a beautiful baby girl and ever since then, one thought keeps bugging me. Why is my daughter so lucky to be protected by all the horrifying and abusing behaviors and other children can't be? Why does she even have a chance while other children don't? Where is the fairness in this?

According to the 2020 statistical report of the non profit organization against child abuse in Greece (https://www.hamogelo.gr/media/uploads_file/2021/02...) "TO XAMOGELO TOU PAIDIOU" (The smile of the child), 2.009 children were reported abused during last year. Of those, 1.026 were abandoned by their family and 845 were physically abused (31 cases refer to sexual abuse). Approximately 40% of them are aged between 0 to 6 years old!

Having read that, I wonder.. How many of them will be able to recover from their tragedies? How many of them will be able to live their lives and not the ones others chose for them? How many of them will end up abusing their future children? How this cycle will come to an end?

I made a decision. I am going to help as much as I can. And I am going to teach my child to do the same.

So, I have a plan. I am going to establish a special school. Its name will be "School for awesome little heroes" and its students will be those children abandoned and abused by their environment.

The main focus will be to provide firstly and foremost the love and support they desperately need. This school will not be just a building with teachers, it will be their home. The safe - homey- family environment which is the basis of every happy, healthy , successful human. Then, we will focus on their education based on the Finish school model. Next thing we know, hopefully, we will applaud them for their speeches against child abuse all over the world!
