Campaign Story
Since 2018, my family and I have called Metro Manila, Philippines home. Amidst the bustling streets and vibrant city life, I’ve been fortunate to embark on an impactful journey—one that transcends mere business and delves into the realm of human connection.
Within my company, there exists a team of dedicated souls, each contributing their unique thread to the tapestry of our shared purpose. Among them is Mayline, a housekeeper whose unwavering commitment extends beyond mere chores. She carries with her a heart full of dreams, and her story intertwines with that of her husband, Ramon, a tricycle driver navigating the winding roads of Kilicao Daraga, Albay, in the southern embrace of Luzon.
But it is their daughter, Megan, who casts a luminous shadow upon their lives. Megan was born with ptosis, a condition that causes her right eyelid to droop, veiling her bright spirit in a gentle curtain. Yet adversity rarely travels alone. During a routine eye examination, doctors uncovered a more formidable foe: PDA (Patent Ductus Arteriosus)—a life-threatening heart condition. The ductus arteriosus, which should have sealed shut after birth, remained ajar, allowing an excess rush of blood into Megan’s delicate lungs.
In the face of this daunting reality, Mayline’s resolve ignited like a beacon. She launched a courageous campaign, not for herself, but for Megan. The goal? To secure the funds necessary for Megan’s heart surgery—a delicate dance of skill and hope to be performed at the Philippine Heart Center in Quezon City. The corridors of that hospital will witness not only medical expertise but also the fierce love of a mother who refuses to surrender.
And so, amidst the hum of traffic and the symphony of city lights, Mayline’s unwavering determination paves a path toward Megan’s brighter future. The operating room becomes a stage where courage dances with scalpels, stitching together threads of possibility. Megan, with her drooping eyelid and her heart’s secret struggle, harbors a dream: to become a doctor—a healer who extends her hands to those who cannot afford the luxury of hospital care.
May their story echo through the corridors of time—a testament to resilience, love, and the indomitable spirit that thrives even in the shadow of adversity. 🌟❤️
