Saving dogs in Cyprus!

"Sofa Hounds Rescue" is a private self funding Brittish family rescue helping animals in need by providing foster care and rehabilitation on their farm in Cyprus. Rochelle van Buuren, her teenage daughter and a few helpers (6 other people) everyday take care of their rescue dogs, cats, horses (see MoonAcre facebook page for more info about the equestrian part). Right now they have over 40(!) animals under their care - and it takes a lot of their time, energy and strenght to make it work (especially since Rochelle has been having health problems with her heart for over a year now). They get up at 5:00/6:00 am, they feed the animals, clean after them, exercise and train them, feed them again... It's 11:00 pm when they're done.
Over the years they saved hundreds of dogs - they helped them get better, fed them, found them new homes all over Europe. You can read their histories on “SFH” facebook page .

Who am I? I’m a person that few months ago adopted a dog from them - here’s Gohan, a pitbull/saluki mix, after arriving in Poland :). He was left to die in a Cypriot “dog shelter”, he was poisoned… Luckily, he was also saved by the “Sofa Hounds Rescue”.

He’s an amazing dog that lives a happy life with my other dog, safe in a friendly environment.

I’m very thankful to Sofa Hounds Rescue - and that’s why I’d like to make, with your help, their hard work a little bit easier.

Right now they have 13 dogs that are ready to be adopted - you can see all of them above. But the process is not easy: their vet bills, travel requirements and transport fees need to be paid first.

1000 euro saves one dog.
