HELP US SAVE OUR VETERINARY CLINIC

Our Story:

Most of us knows what it is to invest all of our savings on a project that passionate us, this makes us extremely vulnerable because our success its not only affected by our effort, but also by external situations that can ruin and crush all that we achieved.

We are a couple of Veterinarians that destiny tied up by sharing the same passion for animals and the desire to help them. We started our careers as auxiliary teachers at the university, we did enjoy that experience as it let us help other people with the same dream; “of becoming a vet”. After the end of our contract at the university we decided to labour in private veterinary clinics, just long enough to help us save enough money to open our own clinic. After lots of effort and sacrifices we reached our goal and bought the equipment needed to inaugurate out Clinic. It took us time but at the end we did it, we finally opened our clinic and named it ExoticMedGt, our own Veterinary Clinic!. It was small, but it was our dream come true.

As we opened our clinic, we immediately faced the terrible situation that the COVID-19 pandemic brought. We decided to continue with the opening by taking the recommended bio-safety measures that assure ours and our clients health. As the pandemic continued, we started to face more and more cases of people that had lost their jobs and still wanted to take care of their pets. This hit us hard economically, because we couldn´t allow our selves to leave our patients ill and in pain, we had to do our duty and help as much as we could. The cost of this decision was too high, and eventually we found our selves at a point where the income isn´t enough for us to pay our bills. Going thru all of this hasn´t stopped us, we still help as much as we can, because we know that we are not the only ones suffering the consequences of the pandemic, still, we are in danger of closing our Veterinary Clinic.

Our passion is to help, even beyond what corresponds us, but we cannot continue like this. It took us a while to decide to share our story here, but we consider that our labour of fighting for animal well being is worth it, specially on this times of hardship in which pets can be the only emotional support for many people. We are grateful of every donation and every share, we will make sure that every dime will help us keep helping pets in need, we believe that in hard times every light, as small as it can be, can make a difference.
