Cheryl’s Children’s Home & Learning Centre (CCHLC) is a registered Non-governmental organization working with and for children and the marginalized communities in Kenya. CCHLC works closely with those who are underprivileged and socially disadvantaged in the slums and rural communities in order to improve their social and economic status with the aim of healing orphaned and vulnerable children.
CCHLC is has been located at Dagoretti for the last several years with 200 students between the ages of 4-14 years, 56 of them living within school.
Due to the expansion of railway tracks, CCLC has been forced to vacate the land they are currently on and demolish all structures. With 56 children dependent on this organization for shelter, the dedicated school administration and teachers identified a piece of land for lease 1km from their current location.
CCLC has to vacate the land by August 15 2018 and demolitions of existing structures are underway. CCLC will use some walls, roof - whatever they can - to put up the school to the lowest cost possible, but still requires some material, transportation of building material from the current ground to the new ground and labor to complete construction. We urgently need to raise:
- USD 1500 for transport of current materials
- USD 1000 for Plywood (120 units à USD 8,50)
- USD 400 for nails (3", 4" and rooftop nails)
- USD 3,000 for construction labour
Our priority remains to continue providing for the basic needs, education and security of these children and would appreciate your partnership.
