Save lives and create an amazing travel destination!

Bosofet Beach and Creek Lodge is a lodge on a beach in Sanyang, The Gambia. It was set up by the social entrepreneur Omar Bojang in 2019.

He had been observing the growing unemployment amongst young people, which often led to meaningless activities and drugs. He had also seen friends leaving the country trying to find a better life in Europe. Some of them never made it to Europe – or came back.

Omar’s vision was to create jobs in the local community. To find hope for a better future at home.

With some support from the village did he manage to start building the lodge.

A group of young men has since the start been committed to build this unique place. There are several buildings that blends in nicely with the surroundings on this secluded paradise beach.

Then Corona came! Tourism stopped. Building materials became VERY expensive!

Tourism is now returning. But “Bosofet” is in a catch-22 situation. They need guests to finance the completion of the buildings. But they can’t receive enough guests with only one completed bedroom.

I have stayed at this place. And it was the happiest time in my life. All of them are so welcoming, polite and doing their job as hosts perfect. The food is lovely and if you want to go somewhere they will organise a driver, so that you feel safe.

I have listened to their stories and met some of their families. They come from extremely poor backgrounds. No school or just a few years education.

By donating some money, you will help them finalise the buildings, so that they can receive more guests and, in that way, generate an income. This income will not only help them, but also their families who are in great need.

It will also create a unique destination for you to go to and have your holiday.

I am also involved in this project, and we will arrange interesting and fulfilling workshops and performances for you to choose from. Or welcome you to run your own workshop here. Or perform!

There is a lot of potential in this place. But the truth is that I’m not sure if they can make it if they don’t get some financial help as soon as possible!

This is my initiative. They would never ask for money.
