During the month of August 2010, Adhunik Group of Industries and a local transporter dumped black coloured toxic waste which is supposed to be Dolo Char in a Residential Area Village Kadamdih which according to the Environment clearance Certificate should have been used in power generation by the company (Adhunik Alloys and Power Ltd.) and Village Kadamdih being the part of Dalma Ecosensitive Zone where such activities are expressly Prohibited. Dalma is home to the endangered Asiatic Elephants. This is acceptable. According to lab report by CSE, New Delhi It contains harmful heavy materials and other toxic substances which are scientifically proven to be harmful to Humans and other living beings. The Same has also been confirmed by Central Pollution Control Board in its report on 10th September 2012. We need to fight for Environmental Rights of the People of Kadamdih; here in India fighting legal cases is not cheap when a stock market listed company is a respondent. People of Kadamdih should not be made to accept a slow toxic death. We have to fight for justice. Why is this important? The waste we are talking about contains Heavy Metals which is toxic for life. Dalma is home to endangered Asiatic Elephants. The waste can leech ground water. It can cause lungs disease. It shall severely affect the fertility of the soil. It shall cause skin disease. It shall causes several types of cancer. It can cause mental handicappedness.
