Save the Children believes that every child deserves the best chance for a bright future and that’s why we are fiercely committed towards ensuring that children not only survive, but thrive. We run programmes in the remotest corners of India and urban areas to provide quality education and healthcare, protection from harm and abuse and life-saving aid during emergencies to children. Globally, Save the Children is present in more than 80 countries and works to improve the lives of the most vulnerable children living there.

Every child deserves the best chance for a bright future. And that’s why we are fiercely committed to ensuring children not only survive, but thrive. Bold in our ambition and powerful in our care, we do whatever it takes to save the world’s children.

We are often asked, why we should donate to Save the Children and what is the impact it is making?

We urge you to visit each of the sub sections of this part of our website. It has a list of some key programmes which Save the Children is running. Save the Children has an ‘area – driven’ approach. It scopes hotspots, plans and executes massive programmes in these hotspots.

Our projects can be bucketed into five thematic areas:

  • Child Protection
  • Health & Nutrition
  • Education
  • Humanitarian Response & Disaster Risk Reduction
  • Child Poverty

Children form the epicentre of all the work we do and we go by the mantra of "Children First" in all our projects. Please browse through the individual sections on our major programmes.

One of the recent amendments in the Child Labour Prohibition and Regulation Act (CLPRA) allows child labour in “family or family enterprises”. This is likely to increase the involvement of children in agriculture because it is usually a family enterprise. This will make more children prone to get caught in the clutches of child labour, one of the biggest enemies of a happy childhood.
