I'm a student photography in Kisp Ghent, a second chance school for adults who couldn't complete high school and didn't get their diploma.
I almost completed 1/3 of my studies. I'm doing my best, my teachers are very proud of my work for the assignments.
My home situation was bad and giving my a lot of personal issues making school impossible in my situation. I was forced to leave, but now my girlfriend and her mother took me in giving me an opportunity in life so I have a chance on a bright future again. If it wasn't for them I was on the streets now.
This is my last chance to get my highschool diploma and I'm really doing my best. In Belgium it is now very hard to get a job without a highschool diploma and having Aspergers makes it even harder to get student jobs like working in a store. In person during job interviews I'm not convincing enough to defend the point why to hire me and the crowded spaces can be overwhelming to me. Which is very hard for me. I am looking for jobs for a while now.
Photography is my passion now and I want to do this as a job later as well, in the beginning combined with another job but I'll need my high school diploma for that.
What is the fundraising for:
With photography you need a very decent computer. My old laptop has been getting worse and worse over time. Long story short my laptop can't handle the software anymore and even surfing on the internet is problematic. I've lost pictures and work because of my computer crashing and such.
I thought my old laptop was going to be able to handle it till the end of my studies. I will have to stop my studies of I don't have my computer untill the second semester.
Long story short:
So I made this fundraiser to get a decent future proof desktop computer that can handle the Adobe software to finish my studies to gain my diploma so I save my future. I will build my own desktop with 1500 euros.
Electronics are more expensive in Belgium than in the United States plus we pay 21% tax on products. I need 1500 euros to build my desktop but this site takes 4% and paypal 3% so the 105 euro is that 7%
I'm very ashamed that I litterally became a charity case and it's not fun throwing this personal information on the internet. I hope you understand.
