Rudy’s Fearless Fight with Cancer

A Loving Father and a humble husband. Rudy, 39 years old a family centered man, responsible and also a breadwinner.
Rudy is one of our co-worker, currently working as a Nursing Attendant in one of the government hospital here in Davao City.
Every Year we have our routine physical examination (w/c is part of the hospital protocols) and one of Rudy’s complains was his hearing loss. From time to time, he went for a check-up and a lot of medications and procedure was given to him. As time goes by, the symptoms are getting worse until such time that he look for an ENT specialist to have another check-up. Unfortunately, the doctor found out (upon viewing on his nose) that there are nodules inside. Right then and there he was advised for a CT scan. The result was out and it was defeating (Nasopharyngeal Mass to consider Malignancy). He was then advised to undergo Needle Core Biopsy and the result was “Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Stage 4”.
It happens very fast, fast that even us his co-worker cannot believed that it will happen to Rudy. A once strong man became powerless. After all the laboratories done, the doctor advised Rudy to undergo Chemo and Radiation Therapy. It was tough yet life must goes on. He is preparing for his treatment yet another storm came. As part of the mandatory requirements prior to his treatment, he need to undergo swab test for Covid19 and unluckily Rudy was tested Positive. He was infected with the virus. Thus, this delay his treatment and add another burden to him. Recently he is now on his 2nd cycle of Chemo treatment and scheduled for Radiation therapy this following month. Because of this he can no longer work and his leave credits was already consumed. He was running out of funds for his daily needs as well as his family.
