Phil, my husband and father to our son, has cystic fibrosis and nearly 2 decades ago was the recipient of a double lung transplant. Transplant recipients must generally be careful about exposure to bacteria, viruses and fungi, but as his health has declined in recent years he must be extra careful now - which has understandably shifted responsibility of many tasks to me. We are experiencing a financial dip so can't afford outside help and don't have access to a lot of external support. Tasks I look after are...
Lawn mowing
Gardening
Cleaning shower and toilets
Kitty litter changing and cleaning
House maintenance requiring being in the roof cavity
House maintenance which creates dust if any kind
Clearing mould
Anything requiring a long period of physical exertion
Vacuuming
All of the gross and messy jobs, which is fine most of the time.
At the moment however we are dealing with a carpet moth infestation in our house. Obviously we can't have the house fumigated, so the only way to deal with it is thoroughly vacuuming every few days.
So every few days I am moving all our furniture to vac the skirting boards, edges and most importantly under all the furniture. I vacuuming 3-4 hours each time. While this is great exercise, I could really appreciate a helping hand. One thing we have thought of to lighten the load is to buy a robot vac which also have the added benefit of fitting under furniture. We are under a bit of financial pressure so can't afford to buy one, and this has already been going on for a few months.
I can't overstate how much this would help my family right now, although the cat may be unimpressed. Any small amount will be gratefully accepted. Thank you!
