Renzo was a stray dog found with an infected wound on his nose and right cheek. He was rescued back in October and has been receiving medical treatment since then. He was recently diagnosed with Malignant Lymphoma. His attending veterinarian recommended that the best treatment for him would be CHOP chemotherapy as he also consulted the case with fellow veterinarians from London (Royal Veterinary College) that would give him 70-80% chances of survival but there will also be risks. In preparation, he was prescribed with higher dosages of antibiotic and steroid for 2 weeks and after which the chemo will be given every 21 days for 3 sessions. The estimated cost of the treatment itself would be P6,000 - P7,000/session (excluding the medicines he will be taking in between the sessions, lab tests if there are any and follow up visits). This may seem to cost too much but I can't give him up since he has been a part of my daily life and has become my family since day one. He is such a sweet and playful fur baby. But I wont be able to make it alone. I will be needing financial support and your prayers as well to sustain his CHOP Chemotherapy and other medical expenses until full recovery. Any amount will be greatly appreciated and would be of so much help to Renzo's recovery. Thank you and God bless!

I got Renzo back yesterday afternoon (Jan 27, 2016) from the clinic. He’s done with his first chemo session. According to Doc Ryan his blood levels are now close to normal range however he would still need to be under maintaining medications such as low doses of Co-Amoxiclav, Prednisone and. . . . .

The vet explained that the initial chemo drugs to be given are L-Asparaginase and Vincristine and it will be one drug per week right after. There are many protocols on how the drugs are to be administered but this method provides the highest success rate of 80%, recurrence of 10-20%. . . . .
