Renovation of St. Ignatius Loyola Chapel

My name is Ardian, I'm from Ambarawa, a small town in central java Indonesia. I am a member of the Catholic Youth Community in the Khorizam Tambakboyo Ambarawa region.The khorazim Tambakboyo region is a part of the saint yusup ambarawa parish Catholic community.

The history of Tambakboyo Chapel establishment began in 1967. At that time there was no chapel around the area, so the eucharist celebration was carried out in the home of locals in turn. With the passage of time, The Catholic teachings were increasingly widespread in this region and grew significantly in followers. Finally in 1991, The head of the region Mr. Yulius Siswadi built a chapel building to accommodate all the existing people. It was a small building (6 x 9 M).

Over time, The Catholics in Tambakboyo are increasing. Until 2017 the number reached 332 people. The capacity of the existing chapel is no longer adequate, because its small size can only accommodate about 60 people.Therefore our committee intends to build a more adequate Chapel building, as a mean for the Catholic religious activities in Ambarawa and Tambakboyo particularly.

As a minor religion in Indonesia, it is very difficult to get government's permission to build a place of worship. But with everyone's hardwork, we finally got the permit.

There's only one obstacle, the development fund. Based on our calculations the total cost needed is 1,519,495,399 rupiahs, its around 106,833.30 dollars. Only 59% of these fund have been collected, 646,188,352 rupiahs , its around 45,644.76 dollars are still lacking.The Chapel construction which began in the late 2017 has not been completed due the lack of funds.
