A devastating Cyclone Idai has killed at least 65 people and 200 reported missing in eastern Zimbabwe and destroyed homes, bridges and roads, making rescue efforts difficult. These quoted figures are from Government Source Mr. Mike Madiro the deputy Minister of Home Affairs. A number of reports received say that there schools in the abovementioned areas were affected and children are seeking refuge in mountains with no food and shelter under torrential rain hoping and praying for help urgent help. We are asking for a community response to help save lives. Funds and donations collected will be distrusted by a credible NGO on the ground. You can donate any amount.
. PURPOSE OF THE MONEY
The donated funds raised are for relief work provision of basic things like food, shelter and water. Our plan is to make sure the raised money is used to buy:
- Non-perishable foods
- Clean bottled water
- Tents (if need be)
MANAGEMENT OF THE FUNDS IN ZIMBABWE
We will work with an NGO Cross Culture Foundation Zimbabwe CCFZ led by Pastor Peter Mabasa and team of trustees. They will coordinate the efforts together with other relief agencies to see where exactly the need is most.
CCIF Malta work in Zimbabwe with ccfz on anti-human trafficking initiatives and have built capacity to deal with such emergencies. We have great trust in their ability to get aid quickly where it is needed.
HOW DO WE SEND THE MONEY TO ZIMBABWE
We will send to Zimbabwe through either World Remit, western union or Mukuru.com. We are in negations for waiver of any charges. All supplies will be bought in locally and transported to the need areas Chimanimani and Chipinge for distribution.
WHO AM I
My name is Alec Douglas Bvumburah a philanthropist, I am a Zimbabwean based in Malta running ccif Malta an NGO I founded. I was born in Mutambara went to school at Nhedziwa and Mutambara High School. I grew up in the affected areas. I have relatives that are trapped some unaccounted for. I am sad I want to be on the ground to offer my assistance to my people. The predicament they are in requires that we use whatever means is at our disposal to help.
I climbed Kilimanjaro last and raised money for the restoration of victims of human trafficking in Zimbabwe. I run big EU funded projects here in Malta and across Europe http://facebiok.com/ccifmt . I will be working with other volunteers to fundraise but ultimately, I will be responsible to account for every cent raised on this platform.
