I am a physiotherapist and working at new horizon special school in Ghana which is a non profit institution in Ghana. this school trains both children and adult with physical and learning disabilities. I work in the school as a physiotherapist and have worked with children with cerebral palsy for 3 years. In Ghana many parent with cerebral palsy are contemplating killing their children as others have already done due to frustration their are going through because of lack of support system. in Ghana there about 200 physiotherapist, 5 speech and language therapist and about 30 occupation therapist who are waiting to be employed to begin their professional career. I have a foundation called rehabilitation for cerebral palsy Africa with a vision of eradicating the financial burden of rehabilitation for children with cerebral palsy and to make the se professionals available to parents who have children with cerebral palsy. we embark on outreach rehabilitation programs to deprived communities in Ghana of which 50 have been identified . we need funds for the outreach and to set up centers in these 50 communities. we need funds to purchase wheel chairs, walking aid, corner seat and other orthotic materials for these children. we also want to sponsor some of the children to special need schools and normal school.
