Nostalgia. I have so many fond memories of playing arcade machines at the local shops as a kid. I always dreamed of having my own. Now we can buy them but they are ridiculously expensive.
The Raspberry PI (another love of mine) is the perfect computing platform around which to build an arcade machine. Their tiny size means that we are not limited by having to squeeze a PC into the thing and they are so cheap that it brings the cost down significantly.
I want to build a retro arcade cocktail table powered by a Raspberry Pi. My design will be attractive and affordable. If people like what I build I will happily supply the plans and instructions to them.
This project should cost under $1000 AUD, there may be mistakes and issues but I have the skills to pull this off. Programming, electronics, woodworking, computer aided design.
I'll just build as I get the money, whether from my own meagre funds or from kind donations.
