Campaign Story
We are fundraising to help towards medical costs and treatment for my sister Charm Davis who is 32 years old and suffers from a rare brain condition called Sept Optic Dysplasia. It is a condition a condition that leaves her crippling each day and causes blackouts, seizures, nerve damage, major migraines that are constant. Charm is a mother to 5 beautiful children who would really love to have their mother around longer to be able to watch them grow. Her condition has seen her hospitalized every week with no signs of slowly any time soon.
There has recently been a clinical trial through Auckland University in New Zealand for Gene Silencing which is focused on disease relevant mutations that can be recapitulated or even corrected by introducing a point mutation with a single base change by inserting/deleting large gene sequences.
There is a medicinal treatment called Fuse-it-siRNA which helps to increase physical stimulation of new cell birth within the hippocampus.
This treatment option however is not currently available for sale in New Zealand so have to purchase from specialists overseas.
As this medicine is very expensive and we are realistically unable to afford this treatment we are seeking support from kind hearted souls around the world to assist us by helping us fundraise to give my sister a fighting chance at life as her condition worsens each day.
Please help us...
