Raising funds for a Cinema Camera (canon eos c100)

I live at a place called Mariakani, Mombasa - Kenya. A few years back, around 2017 i did an almost similar campaign. It was for the D5300, i didn't get any funds for that but it didn't stop me from looking at other alternatives. Early 2018, My Dad visited. He lives in Washington Dc. He "bought" me the iPhone 7, not really the case. He wanted to sell it for extra $, it's expensive to move around over here. I convinced him otherwise so he gave the phone to me instead which sadly was stolen last month. Back to 2018.

The Kenya Film Commision held a Mobile phone film competition, Me and my team, since 2015 decided to give it a shot. we had done a short film before, same year with the iPhone (The Axe Man) EskoFilmworks. It gave us so much thrill to do more. The competition was Kenyan with no specific theme. we submitted a horror film (Fiona) which won 2nd runners up. The cash prize was $1000 which we used to buy the Nikon D5300, 50mm, Yelangu steadicam and a Rode mic. The greatest day in our lives. The same year, 2018 we had another film (Ramah Potter) a Harry Potter fan film.

it was hell filming it, also shot on the iPhone. We won Best special effects Kalasha Awards 2018. After this milestone the team became so tied up in their jobs that i was the only one still in the industry full time. The film industry over here doesn't receive any support. It makes it so hard for upcoming creators not to give up. Note that I'm not in it for money but passion. I did so much free work (music videos) for upcomings, Did anything i could to support the industry.

2019, the year passed by and we only did one project. Broke my heart.

2020, this is where everything happened forcing me not to quit, but give up. The year took a toll on all of us, one of the guy's in the team sold the 50mm lens, they mishandled all the equipments to a point i was soo depressed i....... Pain isn't something pretty, we were based in Nairobi, Capital city. I left them EVERYTHING, including my editing laptop (Dell) i was at war with my mind, so intense that my thinking wasn't straight. As little as $5 can go a long way. I'm at a point where the only thing holding me is love for content creation. Changing cities is hell for me.
