My name is Don Fonghe and i'm a musician traveler in Philippines(PH). I've been travelling around ph for 2 years now to share my music and inspire other travelers I cross paths with.
I travel with my alto saxophone and I cannot contain my happiness and excitement everytime I take the sax out of my bag to play. Jazz has always been rooted in my soul, the colors of the air when painted with free music is breathtaking.
Also i'm currently in Siargao and teaching kids ages (8-12) and inspiring them to be a souls burned with passion to change the world through music, and pass the legacy of inspiring more people they encounter.
In Philippines, it is a rough road to take the path of a musician but my desire to keep doing what I love to do is stronger than the financial challenges I deal everyday. It is enough to survive for a day.
I created this fund project for this quest for this instrument that has been fascinated me since I heard about it, the Akai EWI 5000.
It's a wireless wind instrument that can create hundreds of sound presets from flute, oboe, sax, violin, synth and other daft punk sounds you can imagine.
However this dream is quite far-fetched for how much a local musician earns. This EWI (electronic wind instrument) model isn't available in philippines. I spoke to Akai and they recommended to try amazon instead.
Amazon price isn't really cheap. And you need a credit card (and i don't have one sorry). And it also shows a 300$+ shipping fee. I cannot afford to pay shipping fee alone.
I would really appreciate any amount of help to get closer to this dream.
I know this is expensive and if I borrow it is difficult to pay it back, but instead, I will pay it forward, there will be more kids who gets inspired with music, more people I cross paths with uplifted souls and plant more seeds of positivity in this world for a brighter future for the next generation.
And also I like posting music videos of our gigs/shows and some days doing music lessons with the bubbly kids of Siargao and their posted on my social media.
