Campaign Story
To support our healthcare frontliners who fight against the covid-19 in our remote areas of Eastern Indonesia, especially East Flores including (Solor Island, Flores Island, Adonara Island, and Flores Mainland) we are intending to launch a fundraising campaign here to support them with protective equipment through our local community; Leaves Indonesia (Leading Women through Palmyra Leaves) and our marine conservation movement in East Flores.
A big focus of our conservation work over the years has been in remote East Flores regency, including the islands of Flores, Adonara and Solor. The local communities in these economically poor villages opened their doors to us with so much kindness and generosity, warmly welcoming us into their homes to live with them for months on end. Despite their humble way of living, these are some of the most generous people we have ever met in all our travels.
There is a lack of protective equipment for medical workers and healthcare frontliners in Eastern Indonesia and no more sources of funding in the hospital center to purchase the equipment. Our objective is to accommodate more medical workers and related workers with standard protection and equipment.
As of now, we are targeting to distribute at least sets of protective equipment (consists of a surgical mask, N-95 mask, sterile gloves, goggles, face shields, coverall set, apron, boots, cover shoes) along with the hand sanitizer, disinfectant, and hand-washer.
As you can probably imagine, healthcare is very limited in these remote corners of Indonesia and we are supporting a mission to help healthcare frontliners in East Flores to get the proper safety gear and equipment they need to help combat COVID-19! Our friends (doctors, midwives, and healthcare workers) on these islands have limited funds and access to get this equipment. Let’s help them!
We are seeking donations (of any size) to help us purchase and send emergency medical supplies to the communities in East Flores.
Thank you so much for your help.
Sincerely,
Anissa Megia Sari (Community Engagement and Advocacy)

Raincoat is Our Weapon to Protect Our Health Workers Now!
Update posted by Anissa Megia Sari at 06:29 amWhat makes me a bit worried is that our health workers in the frontlines don't wear any proper protective equipment. They wore raincoat during the treatment and I think it's time to consider what we can do to protect them and help them to stay healthy and safe to cure the
Emergency Isolation
Update posted by Anissa Megia Sari at 12:56 amWe have limited rooms in the healthcare units to isolate the positive patients. We decided to make an emergency place in the village's primary school.
Why should we care?!
Update posted by Anissa Megia Sari at 01:06 pmCurrently, we are facing a tough situation because of the global pandemic, COVID-19. Most of us are lucky enough to have accessible healthcare facilities and proper equipment. For those who haven't, this situation makes them stuck; economically, socially, and maybe politically?! Who knows. When we are witnessing something like this. . . . .
