For years my partner has worked as a Special Needs Teacher. Through her work, I have seen her provide children with different needs, with the ability to carry out tasks and get through day to day life. Things most people don't think twice about can be life changing experiences for some. Some of these children go on to live independently, or in a group housing environment, where they hold down jobs and look after themselves. Others do not reach this level of independence for one reason or another. It is this group of children that my partner and I hope to help further. We are looking to purchase a property which will act as a place where those with special needs can come and continue to learn through day to day practical skills applications (cooking, gardening, constructing/repairing furniture or even simply helping themselves to dress and look after their own personal hygiene). This will be an ongoing project, but first we need to purchase a property. Such a property has been found, and we have negotiated a price with the current owners, however we are falling short on the deposit we require to secure a loan for the property. We are not looking for funding for the projects which we hope to conduct at the property, as it will be some time before we are ready for this. We are first hoping that the wonderful people that you are, can help to secure a property for us, so we can start preparing these projects. It is a tall order, but any amount would be of great assisstance.
